Review of BlacKkKlansman (2018) by Mary H — 10 Aug 2018
When I saw that it saw a comedy I almost didn't want to go see it, b/c I didn't think the subject was a laughing matter. Thanks to my wife for talking me into going I have to say it was a truly powerful film, one that everyone should go see..although you know thats not going to happen. Some people prefer to find a self imposed blindness on real life events. Some even call it fake news when even "facts" dont fit their narrative.
The end of the film really surprised me, although it shouldn't have. Lets just say it caught me by surprise; I didn't expect it. I could feel my eyes start welling up and my heart pumping a little faster than normal. VERY..powerful ending!! This film is far from a comedy in spite of several laughs through-out. Spike Lee really did it this time. Thank you my bother for an exemplary film.
