Review of BlacKkKlansman (2018) by Andreas T — 14 Aug 2018

I saw the movie yesterday at a sneak preview, never even heard about it until then. I really liked it. Okay the pacing was a bit of in the first half hour (the black power speech felt like forever, the dancing scene too) but after that the film turned into a funny buddy cop movie with a good massage. The fact that they showed more than one side (good white cops, racist white cops, good black people, bigoted black activists and so on) really earned my respect. I had a good time!

But then there was the end. Multiple minutes of heavily left leaning political footage that did not fit in the context of the movie at all.

It really ruined the experience for me, even thou I'm german and not as passionate about the current political situation of the USA as many others on this website.
