Review of Blackhat (2015) by Aaron T — 19 Jan 2015
Movies are a bit hit and miss this time of year and this one mostly misses. My son and I were walking out wondering why such an action filled movie could, at the same time, be pretty boring. I think the answer is that the Director, Michael Mann who has made some good movies, was more interested in the staging of scenes than the story.
That is too bad because the story is fairly interesting, but pretty much ruined by the relentless visual and script cliches. I mean how many times do you need to see light flashing over micro chips to get the idea, 'This involves computers.
' Once was enough so after the third time we were ready to surrender. If you have nothing much else to do this is ok, but won't leave you breathless.
