Review of Blackfish (2013) by Davey M — 07 Jan 2014
At a brisk 80 minutes, "Blackfish" could maybe have used a little more time to more effectively establish the context for everything it presents, to more generously listen to any counterarguments, and to interrogate some of the pernicious structural motivations that drive corporations to do bad things.
The film is an effectively and well-crafted expose, and it certainly will prevent me from ever going to SeaWorld (though I wasn't terribly likely to anyway), but there was so much presented in such little time that I couldn't always tell if I was getting the full story.
