Review of Blackfish (2013) by Diane M — 18 Jan 2014
It is a shame what is done to these beautiful animals. They are to huge to live in captivity, and even if the parks care at all for them, they are such highly social creatures, they are not meant to be alone, and a pair does not make a pod.
Yet it is even sadder when one of these unfortunate cows (female Orcas) have a pup , only for SeaWorld to take it from its mother, to bring it to another one of its parks, when that calf/pup/baby whatever would have STAYED with its Orca mother its ENTIRE life were it out in the wild.
How vicious is that? I am rather happy that I've never been to any place like SeaWorld , I've never liked the idea of having wild things that large in captivity, some of them for their entire life.
But then watching this you realize that it wasn't only the blood of whales that kept the machine that is SeaWorld running, but others blood too, and those deaths could have been avoided.
