Black Swan will make you lose your mind!!

Everyone knows the motto "Practise makes perfect" and who doesn't want to be perfect. You can be a perfectionist if you try hard but is that all it takes?? Perhaps that's not the end of the story, ever heard of another phase "every action has a consequence"?? Black Swan will have you quoting these famous quotes with a whole new meaning again.

A prestigious ballet company in New York was looking for its new lead ballerina after its director , Thomas Leroy portrayed by Vincent Cassel forced his former lead, Beth Macintyre portrayed by Winona Ryder into retirement. There were many young and eager ballerinas in the company who all wanted to dance the "Swan Queen "but only one could be chosen.

That's how the drama begins, with tens of ballerinas auditioning with the hopes of getting the lead role. Beautiful and innocent as she is, Nina Sayers ( Natalie Portman) is perfect for the fragile and melancholic White Swan but lacks passion and ardor to dance her dark and nefarious twin, Black Swan. That said, Thomas Leroy sees the earnestness and unflinching desire within her and gives her the role.

Constantly under the pressure and the fear of losing her role to Lily (Mila Kunis) , she starts being demented and begins seeing delusions. As Nina is perfect for the White Swan, Lily is perfect for the Black Swan with bold and amorous personality. Before long, Nina is lost between reality and her conscious. / She falls through the cracks between her conscious and reality.

I have to pay my tribute to Natalie Portman who portrayed the young and insecure Nina Sayers wonderfully. Vincent Cassel did a terrific job in playing the demanding and seductive director Thomas Leroy. Lily's role was charming and mysterious with a strange pull to her character which Mila Kunis was able to channel favorably well. The rest of the cast were not that remarkably compared to the three but did a fairly adequate job. I am sure if they had been given more importance, they'd be able to shine just as brightly as the leads.

The movie's directing had been obscured in some bits, perhaps it had been more emotionally based then script based therefore, some parts had used facial expressions instead of words. Nevertheless, no one can disagree that the movie was a masterpiece and a work of art.

In this fast-paced world and competitive city, it's not easy to excel. Is it worth it to lose your sanity for perfection?? Everyone should do their best to reach their own dreams, however one should always remember to take good care of one's own health. This movie conveys an important reminder for people who often neglect their health for their career and stress themselves physically and mentally.

Although the movie had been aspiring, I don't recommend it to young teenagers and children under 18 like myself. It has strong sexual contents and inappropriate languages and might have adverse effect on young people's view of sex and encourage the improper use of languages. This movie will be totally delicious for adults to devour and will have them hungry for more.

So the total rating I give " Black Swan " is 4 out of 5 stars.
