Review of Black Swan (2010) by Micheal K — 29 Oct 2013
Damn I love me some Aronofsky. I've seen just about all of his movies and liked them. So it's not surprising that I liked this one. I remember hearing a lot of hype behind this movie and now it made sense.
That's because this movie is that damn good. Entertaining from beginning to end with a very complex plot that's not too complex. The story centers around Natalie Portman (who is gorgeous and finally gets to show her talent) who is a ballerina that manages to land a lead role in the upcoming play.
The pressure really starts to build as Mila Kunis joins the play and seems too perfect for the part, perfecting the part that Portman can't seem to get right. There's some blood in here but kept kept to a minimum to increase it's effectiveness.
Really it's the great use of body horror and claustrophobia that will make you feel uncomfortable as hell. This is a great movie that should be seen, but you might probably don't wanna watch this with grandma :p.
