Review of Black Swan (2010) by Slavisa M — 07 Jul 2013
Black Swan is a great psychological thriller that takes a while to get into, but stars the brilliant Natalie Portman in perhaps the greatest performance of her career.. Just the sheer transformation from the character played by Portman, manifesting into her real life is enough to send chills down your spine.
It's as if the film takes you into a deep, dark place, which allows the concept of uncertainty and self loathe to combine with the sheer artful and poetic imagery and detail that is orchestrated by a masterful and visionary director.
Featuring a great suporting cast, Mila Kunis in particular surprised me in this film with the role she was able to portray. A great piece of cinema which will take more than one viewing for you to appreciate.
