Review of Black Sunday (1960) by Darren R — 28 Aug 2013
I'm not a big fan of Gothic horror in general (despite desperately wanting to be), but this is easily one of the best examples of the genre. The cinematography is surprisingly good, and there is enough tasteful gore to keep modern audiences interested without being too grossed out.
Sadly, the music is nothing more than adequate. Like the overwhelming majority of horror films, all of the good, innocent characters are frightfully dull, but on most technical levels this is a movie worth checking out.
