Review of Black Snake Moan (2006) by Nadene R — 12 Jul 2009

I knew very little about this film when I saw it. All I knew was that Samuel Jackson chains up Christina Ricci. My interest peaked I rented it the weekend before it came out on video (when I worked at a video store).

I was pleasantly surprised that he wasn't some lunatic, but was truly trying to help her. There relationship stayed platonic, which is really a breath of fresh air, as most movies can't pair a male and a female in leading roles without them banging at some point.

The blues music was great as well. I'm no christian, but I even liked some of what Jackson was saying. Also Ricci has a really good looking body...and shes in her underwear for most of the movie, I won't pretend I didn't enjoy that.
