Review of Black Snake Moan (2006) by Marc B — 26 Aug 2011
Samuel L. Jackson stars as a farmer/blues singer who is going through some tough times. His wife was cheating on him with his brother and leaves him. One morning he finds a young girl (Christina Ricci) in a ditch half naked, running a high fever, and beat up.
He takes her into his home to care for her. He decides it is his duty to cure her of her wickedness and ends up putting a chain on her so she can't leave. The premise sounds a liitle strange but the movie works.
Jackson and Ricci do a great job. this was also one of Justin Timberlake's first movie role. He is very solid in this. The movie has some great blues numbers in it as well.
