Review of Black Sheep (1935) by Carrie B — 21 Nov 2008
Black Sheep, a Scottish import about killer sheep is occasionally very very funny. There are about five laugh out loud moments that are at least YouTube-worthy. Unfortunately, the film falls short in developing that tone of self-aware humor and genuine creepiness that Shaun of the Dead possessed and that Eli Roth has perfected in the Hostel movies and Cabin Fever.
Less-than-clever dialogue hampers the film as well as a poorly named and ill-conceived female lead, Experience (Danielle Mason). Still, Black Sheep is moderately fun.
