Yeah, there was a fire on the roof caused by the workers using a torch with the tar. So the fumes got bad and we were let out of school. Such a waste of time though, we were outside for half an hour while they put out the fire and now I'm home. We are going to be getting behind, especially in English. Ugh.

Speaking of English...I've been branded with a new nickname. I'm now called "dictionary". Why? I know the meaning of "big" words. May just be me, but Aristocracy and Superficiality aren't really big words. But my classmates don't know what they mean so I had to explain them yesterday. That, and understanding and enjoying the book we are reading....I don't mind though. I'm just afraid of looking like a smart ass because I find the classwork easy and I'm constantly answering questions.

But I find the work easy, why should I keep quiet? Most people just think I'm smart, but am I? I just know the work, and understand the book....there is so much more to intelligence.

Anyway...Now I'm just insulting myself. :p In history we watched a rather violent movie called "black robe". It was great though, it was about the Jesuit priests from France who came to Canada to convert the Aboriginal people. However they came across some serious problems, because Iroquois tribe, the enemy of the Huron tribe (who the two men were travelling with), attacked and took them captive. Very violent, and it was actually quite disturbing. The thought that people had to live like that...the threat of being tortured looming over your head. Wow. I could not survive like that. It was quite thought provoking, how hard it was to survive back then, both for the Aboriginals and the Jesuit priests. See the film if you are interested at all in Canadian history.
