Review of Black Rain (1989) by Paul H — 16 May 2008
Goofy 80s actioner. Since Ridley Scott is behind the film its a given that its visually fantastic. It's really fascinating to basically see Scott show what the world of BLADE RUNNER looks like in the real world.
Too bad the stories very cliche and the characters are very meh. Gets really stupid in the final action scenes. Plus, its frustrating to watch Michael Douglas come to Japan, act like a fucking asshole and break every law under the sun, be a racist scumbag and get off in the end because he's the hero and has a mullet.
Stupid but pretty movie. Excellent cinematography by Jan DeBont.
