Review of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever (2022) by Tubey — 15 Nov 2022
It's a decent attempt at cobbling something together in poor circumstances by the director and everyone involved, but unfortunately the script was clearly unsalvageable after the death of Boseman and the difficulties come through in the final movie.
It's well acted for the most part, has some decent visuals, everyone involved is clearly trying but... yeah, it's mediocre. It drags along at a snails pace - it feels like a thousand mile journey and the car is starting to chug and break down during the last bit and you just can't wait to see the finish line. This should have been cut back by a good 45 minutes.
And again, it's almost all due to the script. A nonsensical villain and a plot with more holes than a swiss cheese, where characters do things 'just because' rather than because they're following any logic in the parameters of the universe they're in.
For me, Wakanda Forever is a shame. A swing and a miss, but at least they legitimately did try to hit.
