Review of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever (2022) by Indieinsights — 29 Nov 2022
It's not as bad as a movie, but the message... is that fascism and imperialism are great, if you are doing it. And I don't like that. You've signed contracts with other nations regarding your precious resource? Nah, it doesn't matter.
All you need is to give a speech. Your agents snipe people all around the world because they can? It'll be fine. Literally, in one scene a Wakanda character explains how Wakanda has jurisdiction wherever it is? And the list goes on.
If Wakanda were a Nazi state, we'd all say how much of a villain state it is. But here, I find the actual worldbuilding and political message spectacular in how ruthless and imperialistic Wakanda became.
Let alone how little they care about anybody outside of Wakanda, right? How about billions of Africans less wealthy than they are? Nah, it doesn't matter because Wakanda imperialism forever. I'm pretty sure that this film will be remembered in a few years -- in a wrong way.
