Jack Cardiff quite rightly won the Oscar for his wonderful technicolour cinematography on this visually stunning film from the dynamic team of Powell and Pressburger. A technical milestone, even by today's standard its hard to think that they didn't leave the UK and never set foot on Indian soil.
