Five nuns start a convent in a remote countryside in India. Along the way, they face internal and external pressures. Once again, the writer-director team of Michael Powell and Emeric Pressburger scored a bull-eye with this picture.
The movie boasts some of the most breathtaking color cinematography and production design in the history of cinema. The movie won Oscars for Jack Cardiff's cinematography and Alfred Junge's sets.
