Review of Black Narcissus (1947) by Miriam P — 12 Aug 2012
This movie was a hysterical (both definitions work) depiction of nuns in the Himalayans. Women going mad, men swaggering in to save the day, exotic royal generals and absurdly funny natives make this film yet another classic racist sexist depiction of American values in the 1940's.
The only reason I gave it two stars was because of how hillarious it was. We've come a long way...phew!
