Review of Black Narcissus (1947) by Eric B — 18 Sep 2012
Sure, "Black Narcissus" has wonderful colors, lighting and cinematography. But the story? Not much beyond its initial premise (nuns in the Himalayas), a stock "scoundrel" character and, eventually, one crazy nun who seems totally implausible.
Mere visuals shouldn't be enough to establish this film as a major classic.
