Review of Black Mass (2015) by Paul R — 11 Oct 2015
Oscars beckon for Johnny Depp as "Black Mass" contains perhaps his finest performance to date. He is unrecognisable as notorious American gangster James Whitey Bulger. The film chronicles his raise to power and it is gripping from start to finish.
It may not reach the heights of a "Goodfellas" or "Casino" but it's a damn fine effort and I'm glad that Depp had finally gone back to more serious roles.
