Review of Black Mass (2015) by Alex T — 18 Dec 2015
Good performances but it struggles to break out of the shackles of a restrained formulaic biopic. The start is slow but intriguing, the middle slow and a little unbalanced, but the end is strong enough to leave you reasonably content.
Joel Edgerton the star for me, albeit it is an vastly improved Johnny Depp from the laughable parody performances in The Lone Ranger and Mortdecai.
