Great to see Depp putting his best foot forward first in a long time, Black Mass is all about his take on Whitey Bulger. The supporting cast is supportive but the overall pace of the plot seems to slow down to a crawl then go at a breakneck speed at another leaving you confused at times and not really able to understand if this is another Departed or attempt at Mystic River.
