(1937) Black Legion.
DRAMA/ SOCIAL COMMENTARY.
More revelent back in the 30's and strictly by the book depicting a particular time in history about a racist organisation called "The Black Legion" the other KKK with the only difference is that they don't expose themselves to open public whenever they commit illegal amoral acts. The story has Humphrey Bogart (unusual role for Bogart)playing blue collar worker and is suddenly drawn to a racist organisation by a co-worker after a higher promotion went to a fellow worker whose speaking with a foreign accent. The movie then shows the existing problems that arise once joining a group that condones and inflicts physical injury among normal citizens.
If it wasn't for the small lecture quoted form Abe Lincoln, I can't see this film as being any good since much of the film is very general.
2.5 out of 4.
