Humphrey Bogart gets sucked into a KKK-like group after losing out on a promotion to a "foreigner." There are many dated elements to the film, but the message around hate, racism, and their origins are still relevant today.
It's melodrama for sure, but it's a fairly classy melodrama. Ann Sheridan plays Bogie's wife.
