Review of Black Hawk Down (2001) by Quinn B — 22 Apr 2011
Black Hawk down is a very realistic and graphic war movie. It has a great cast, and is very good.
Black Hawk Down is all about a group of Delta Force and American Rangers who are sent to Somalia to capture a major Somalian warlord. They were originally sent to be there for 3 weeks, but after many many things going wrong, they had to stay past that deadline. They have to fight off many many militia to stay alive, and this causes some pretty amazing scenes.
The movie is very graphic with blood, and dismemberment. f you are able to stand the graphic parts, you should be able to enjoy Black Hawk Down....I know I did.
The cast did a pretty good job with their performances. William Fichtner was my personal favourite. I also enjoyed Eric Bana in this.
Now this movie was good but doesn't compare to The Hurt Locker, Saving Private Ryan or The Deer Hunter. After saying that. This is a modern war movie, so if you like the classic war movies and not modern warfare, you may not like this one.
Anyways, I really enjoyed it, and it definitely didn't feel like a 2 hr and 20 minute movie.
Very good all around, my rating for Black Hawk Down is.
8.4/10.
