Review of Black Hawk Down (2001) by Tristan M — 09 Feb 2015
I definitely liked this one. The cinematography is great, the acting is really good, and script is good to, but could have been better. The action scenes are really good, hetic, ans intese. They get better as the fighting goes on, and has some pretty gory parts.
In one scene at the humvies there is drumming over the sounds of battle and when someone gets shot the music briefly stops. It is moments like that I didn't much like, luckily their not common. The effects are all good, the helicopter scenes are top notch, and overall the movie is very powerful and enjoyable.
It closely follows what actually happened, it's intense and has some great helicopter scenes, but I preferred We Were Soldiers over it. It has the same kinda idea, trapped behind enemy lines against overwhelming odds, re supplied by helicopters and getting saved at the end by helicopter gunships.
They even carry the same weapons. But it's missing somthing. Number six on my top 15 favorite war movie list.
