Review of Black Gunn (1972) by Brad G — 03 Feb 2010
An excellent leading man and strong supporting cast make it easy to ignore the generic Blaxploitation narrative. Jim Brown is one tough dude and there is great pleasure in watching him discharge a shotgun into various mob soft bellies.
Martin Landau is perfect car salesman sleaze and his heavy, Brian Glover is just as smiley creepy/terrifying as his offspring Crispin. And letâ??s not forget about Bernie Caseyâ??s badass revolutionary! I would have loved to have seen more from this tough dude.
Great satisfying action explosion climax. VF.
