Two stars because I really like period pieces (especially this period) and the visual style appealed to me.
Lack of stars for a plot that seemed lost sometimes, plus Josh Hartnett's typical arduous, squinty-eyed performance. Eckhart should have narrated. Or somebody besides Josh.
