Review of Black Book (2006) by His L — 12 Jun 2008
Somewhat original tale of dutch resistance to Nazis in the Netherlands during ww 2. Points go to verhoeven for trying something serious as opposed to his usual guilty pleasure schlock, though I don't quite think he's got the directing skills to pull this off and add the emotion the material requires.
One too many double crosses and plot heavy, though a good arc for the lead character.
