Review of Black Beauty (1994) by Thomas P — 17 Dec 2012
2 of 5 riding crops..
Gorgeous cinematography, but boring. No character development, no story, it follows the horse around with irritatingly drippy narration, so no actual plot. Its a pretty little movie for only the most dedicated, adoring horse enthusiast.
---If thats not you, and you want an exciting horse movie, then go find.
* The Black Stallion (1979)*.
-5 of 5- for a truly joyful horse romp. An exciting story, exquisite cinematography, and a brilliant splash of exhilaration and magic from beginning to end. It's not so much 'acted' as it is felt - that's what a thoughtful, lovingly-made family movie is supposed to do - be felt.
Black Beauty is only a prancy,cheap knockoff.
So sorry horse ppl..
