Review of BKO: Bangkok Knockout (2010) by Jy S — 27 Apr 2011
Bangkok Knockout is everything director Panna Rittikrai markets it to be.The plot is straightforward, and to be quite frank, it is written in a way to highlight the action. The dialogue, the English lines anyway, aren't exceptional by any means and some of the editing is a little choppy; however, after a brief first act of story and character setup, it is on to the fun.
The film is a little under an hour and 50 minutes and over half of it is dedicated to the bruising and battering of bodies. The martial arts choreography and stunt-work are excellent without a whole lot of time wasted on replays and slow motion.
A very good portion of the fights are high octane adrenaline pumpers. This is what Bangkok Knockout is all about. The acting doesn't impress, but at least most of the actors can and do fight. Even the lovely damsels in distress, Pimchanok Leuwisedpaiboon and Supaksorn Chaimongkol, get in on some of the action.
Bangkok Knockout is simply a film to watch for the action. That's all there is to it.
