Review of Biutiful (2010) by Ana F — 02 May 2011
You know its a perfect drama film when u actually care about the characters. Keeping this criteria, Inarritu's Biutiful is the best film made in recent time. Coming from the maker who's previous achievements counts Babel and 21 Grams, its obvious to keep high expectations and Inarritu's work is totally worth that hype.
He simply excels right from capturing beautiful Barcelona landscape to getting every emotion of each character. But its Javier Bardem who keeps this film alive. Bardem is not a handsome guy buy his smile just bathes you into happiness and his one tear makes you sad like anything.
I never felt so connected to any character than Bardem's Uxbal who's fighting death so that he can find his faith and love for his children. Its a perfect father and children love story illuminating the inheritance bestowed from father to his child.
Highly recco'd for every drama lover. Javier Bardem is just Biutiful!
