Mysticism mixed with realism to find beauty in unlikely places, like a rainbow on an oil slick. The redemption-themed narrative doesn't always satisfy, but the photography and Bardem's haunted (and haunting) lead performance make it well worth a look if you're a subtitley arthouse type.
