Review of Biutiful (2010) by Matt B — 02 Jun 2015
Biutiful (and it's pronounced "beautiful" by the way) is without a doubt a step down from Alejandro González Iñárritu's previous dramas. It's just too messy. There are too many useless characters and too many themes Iñárritu is trying to bring about.
I am still recommending the movie, however, for Javier Bardem and Javier Bardem alone. His performance is real, gut-wrenching and certainly Oscar-worthy.
