Javier Bardem acts brilliantly here, as always. Worth seeing for his electrifying performance and the nice little visual twists that are there. I have found it hard before to get into the director's (Alejandro Gonzalez-Inarritu) work. Amores Perros had its moments but overall felt a bit pointless. 21 Grams was an interesting film, with great performances all round and a good message to the story. However, the aftertaste of the film is more interesting and thought-provoking than while watching the film itself is for some reason. This is certainly his best film to date as it's storyline is totally gripping and the audience definatly roots for the main character and his children. It is very much a story of the love between a father and his children, which may be appreciated more if you are a parent whilst watching. The music by Gustavo Santaolalla absolutely deserves some recognition, as it is a powerful soundtrack and makes the film as effective as it is.

Overall, a film that has many moving moments (particularly towards the end) and an incredible performance from Bardem, with a beautiful soundtrack.
