Review of Biutiful (2010) by Andre T — 19 Aug 2011
Chinese and African slave labor, with gay Chinese handlers, a "helpful" Spanish intermediary dying of cancer (a.k.a., Javier Bardem), a bipolar wife and dysfunctional mother, unimaginable tragedy (including the asphyxiation of all the Chinese laborers and deportation of the Africans), and somehow uplifting in the end, due to the love for humanity of Bardem's character, for the future of the two children who are entrusted to the Senegalese woman who abandons them to return to her deported husband with their baby.
