Review of Birth (2004) by Jean B — 01 Dec 2008
A personal low for a Kidman movie yet. I watched up to the halfway point when she is really starting to question if the boy really is her husband incarnate after all, but the farfetched premise and the poor development leading up to that point were sufficient to discourage me from attempting to finish.
A shame, really, because Kidman did her usual lovely job in the part but the story and direction left much to be desired. Perhaps a rewatch would prompt me to re-rate it a bit higher, but I doubt it will ever come to that.
Perhaps the next time I get hit with a craving for an eerie movie, which happens often, but there's so much else out there that I have yet to watch...
