Review of Birth (2004) by Alice W — 02 Jul 2007
Really fantastic stuff. Flawless direction, fantiastic acting. Initially I had a few problems with the story, because even accepting the premise, some of the reactions seemed a bit implausible. As the film goes on I came to realize more that this film was not about the story, rather it was a meditation on love and longing.
It is a particularly beautiful and haunting meditation at that, as every aspect of the film provides a new insight and raises a new question. Just fantastic.
