Review of Birdemic: Shock and Terror (2010) by Missy N Henry S — 11 Jul 2011
So bad it's good. At first glance one might wonder if it was made to be a serious environmental message, however, between the awful editing, acting and effects there's no question about it. Birdemic is a parody of Al Gore's worst nightmare. So if it's such a blazingly craptastic example of cinematic ineptitude, why in the hell am I giving it 3 stars? It's on the basis that Birdemic is probably the best comedy to come along in decades. Oh yes, it's right up there with Tommy Wiseau's cinematic opus, "The Room". But this one displays even more.
Hilarious examples of failing when it tries to take itself seriously at all. In a world(meaning ours) where comedies these days are about as funny as dying children in Africa, Birdemic is a movie that will truly make you forget your worries and make you laugh through it's odd attempts at a serious sci-fi movie.
