Review of Bird on a Wire (1990) by Brad G — 10 Jul 2009
This film is warm butter. What does that mean? It means that I am completely at peace whenever I watch this film. Why is that? I donâ??t really know. Itâ??s not a great movie. Itâ??s pretty fun. But for whatever reason, I just get all warm and fuzzy inside whenever I hear the lovely bickering between Mel Gibson and Goldie Hawn.
I love their back and forth. And I love all the other little players that come in and out of the flick. The baddies are spot-on. David Carradine and Bill Duke have to be one of my all time favorite odd couple Hitman pair (and I LOVE LOVE LOVE how the opening credits play over their post-prison reunion).
And Stephen Tobolowsky is weasly and kinda scary here as well. Not great cinema, but great 80s/90s buddie romance cheese. VF.
