Review of Bird Box (2018) by Rtheom — 27 Dec 2018
"Bird Box" is "A Quite Place" done right. "A Quiet Place" was fine it had some interesting ideas, but it was just green in one too many ways with so-so directing, decent-but-not-great acting and a corny end.
Sure, this movie doesn't necessarily clean up as nicely as "A Quite Place" does by the time its over, but this one leaves just enough questions open that you're left wondering but not wanting.
"Bird Box" is definitely one of the better films I've seen this year. Yes, the plot is fairly predictable, but the movie admits that right from the start and just concerns itself with presenting something gripping, which it does very well.
Sandra Bullock and all of the other actors put their all into this, and it shows. I highly recommend this movie, particularly since its already on Netflix.
