Review of Billy Jack (1971) by James H — 25 Jan 2006
It's a tough movie to rate. On one hand, the message is well meaning, it is an interesting perspective from a viewpoint of the 1970's. The acting is very uneven, no one is great, but there is some great acting from some of the cast, but the same actors act poorly in other scenes.
The low budget is evident. It did produce a very big hit song at the time and it still sounds good today. I haven't seen this since it came out in 1971. It was more powerful then, but surprisingly it still has punch to it.
