Review of Bill & Ted's Bogus Journey (1991) by Kevin T — 17 Apr 2012
The Bill and Ted we know came to an end as soon as this film started. The time travel was pretty much forgotten for most of the movie, the humour is told mostly through robots who don't even seem like robots, and the plot of having them die, journey through the afterlife, and return to kill their robot selves is a very pointless premise that did not make me laugh much.
The first film felt very original while watching it, but this film is not even a rehash, it is an attempt at a rehash that fell flat. Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter may have the same loveable chemistry that they had during the first, but by the end of the film, that is really the only thing memorable.
The only scene I enjoyed was the end which finally made good use of time travel and had some funny jokes. "Bill and Ted's Bogus Journey" is a serious downgrade in comedy. This film is most unfunny!
