Yeah its cheezy, its stupid, its overtop and the hero is a jerk and can't do anything right, but... THAT'S THE POINT! Carpenter and Russell made an extremely fun film, so if you're not gonna relax and enjoy the cheeziness then just don't bother.
But if you wanna watch a fun and exciting film give it a watch.
