Review of Big Stan (2007) by Paul C — 18 Aug 2010
This had to of been a joke. I mean at least the story was ok enough to make me wonder what is going on, but Rob Schneider was strange for this role. He directed it also. Do you think he just woke up and was like, I want to learn martial arts and make a movie about me fighting all the time.
This is not the type of character he is use to playing and he really failed at it. I mean the last time I saw something like this was Beverly Hills Ninja with Chris Farley. Although, even though Farley was taught martial arts, he used it in a comedic way.
Schneider was all serious and tried to have epic fight scenes. But he was just too slow. I mean I give him credit for learning, but when an enemy stands there for five minutes waiting for Schneider to do a roundhouse kick to attack him, you know something is wrong.
Again, the story was just ok. It really didn't have a plot, but it did make you wonder what was going to happen. Or maybe I was just waiting for a really funny part. Too bad I really didn't get anything.
All the rest of the cast didn't make sense and there is no point to mention them. Although David Carradine was in it and I would hate to have this movie under my belt before I passed away.
