Review of Big Miracle (2012) by Saad K — 10 Jun 2012
Big Miracle - CATCH IT (B).
Big Miracle is based upon the 1988 international effort to rescue gray whales trapped in ice near Point Barrow, Alaska. Recently there have been lots of family movies based upon true lives like Dolphin Tale (Great) & Soul Surfer (SO-SO). Big Miracle is not as mediocre or Hollywood-ish as Soul Surfer but as great, coherent or emotional as Dolphin Tale. This one falls in the middle, its not that bad but not that great either.
The story is fascinating but the characters are not very interesting in the movie, which makes it tedious sometimes. Though watching grey whales and ice and everything is pretty fun experience. John Krasinski, Drew Barrymore, Kirsten Bell etc all did a good job but they don't have many great moments. All great moments belong to the grey whales trapped in the ice.
Overall, its a good family movie, can be seen once.
