Review of Big Fish (2003) by Tracey S — 02 Jan 2012
This is an unusually light-hearted film for the likes of Tim Burton, but it no less has the signature style and artistic quality he has become so famous for. He knows how to really take advantage of magical realism and how to keep it from utterly clashing with reality.
"Big Fish" is a very heart-felt movie with a perfect and emotional ending, and the performances were just as great as the story (though I couldn't bring myself to believe Ewan McGregor as a Southerner).
This is one of Burton's best films that I can recommend for any lover of movies or fine arts in general.
