Review of Big Fish (2003) by Ben H — 11 Jul 2014
I finally got around to watching it. I'm not kicking myself over that aspect either. But I am happy that I did get to view the film.
As a vibrant follower of the discipline and craft of filmmaking, I was impressed by the work put into this film. Overall though, I wasn't really in touch with the movie.
The end was heart warming and everything was put into perspective and it all made sense. Just didn't really provoke a heart warming, passionate, supportive response out of me. It just made me smile and say, "oh okay that makes sense, yeah this was really good.".
For some viewers it may be a little too "out there" for some grounded people, like my parents. But I'd recommend it for anyone looking for a change in your average low concept, good versus evil type of film. This is clearly a high concept thinker and worth a watch.
