Review of Big Fish (2003) by Gwathdring A — 19 Nov 2014
This movie was really touching. To me, it connected the myths we project of ourselves with the perceptions of our loved ones encompassed by the understanding the ones that are left behind get after the passing of a patriarch or prominent family member who held everyone together.
I connected with this movie particularly through my experiences with both my aunt and paternal grandparents' passings. All three were truly larger than life, and really lived what (to the uninitiated, at least) could have seemed like fictional lives.
